I'm gay, Neopagan, and half mexican. I'm very liberal and tho I can take humor in the things you are saying and in race jokes and things that other people could find offensive, I still would not deny anything to anyone just because they live a different way than I do. Who am I or you to say what is right and what is wrong? If you are Catholic you should know that God is the final judge and those who judge will be judged. For instance take the war in the Middle East. I believe we shouldn't have gone to war in the first place, and we should pull our troops out asap and deal with the consequences for our actions and mistakes, but I know some people who think that the war is the only way to go, and it will show our strength and whatever else they think it will do to be productive. Who is right in this situation? And who are you to judge whether or not it is right, and deny other people the option to voice and act on their opinions just like you are doing this very second by answering my question.
Or let's say gay marriage, I obviously am biased because I would love to get married to my girlfriend at some point, but there are many people who are preventing that from happening. Who are you to take away our rights or decide how someone else should live when we are all different? Straight men: could you ever love/have sex with/be happy with a guy? Ew. Right? Same here. I can't be with a guy and be happy, so who are you to deny my happiness? In a sense, Romanholiday's like/love excuse is all tied together, he or you or I may not like what someone else is doing, but we should love them enough and want their happiness enough so to not deny others or discriminate them intentionally.
